Miki Briggs and Maks Riossa are the new owners of Malvern Saddlery, bringing a shared passion for the equestrian lifestyle, exceptional customer service, and years of experience in the horse industry to this exciting new chapter of the store.
Together, Miki and Maks co-founded Miki Saddlery in 2022 with the vision of creating a modern, rider-focused equestrian business built on expertise, authenticity, and carefully curated brands. What began as a traveling boutique serving major horse shows throughout the United States quickly developed a loyal following among riders seeking personalized service, premium apparel, and expert boot fitting.
As part of this transition, Miki Saddlery will now be incorporated into Malvern Saddlery, combining the strengths of both businesses under one name while continuing an active presence at horse shows and equestrian events throughout the country.
Raised in Southern California, Miki grew up immersed in the horse world, spending her childhood riding, showing, and working around barns and ranches. Her career in equestrian retail began at Valencia Sport Saddlery in Los Angeles, where she developed a deep understanding of rider needs, premium products, and personalized customer service. Today, she is especially known for her expertise in equestrian fashion and custom boot fittings, helping riders find products that combine performance, comfort, and style. Born and raised in Slovenia, Maks comes from a deeply rooted equestrian family and grew up around his family’s business, Riossa Stables. Since 2019, he has served as the U.S. Sales Representative for Tucci and has become widely known throughout the equestrian community for his expertise in custom riding boots and professional boot fitting. His knowledge, attention to detail, and passion for helping riders achieve the perfect fit have made him a trusted resource for equestrians across the country.
Miki and Maks are incredibly proud to carry forward the legacy that Jill Apfelbaum built during her more than 30 years leading Malvern Saddlery. They are grateful for the trust Jill has placed in them to carry Malvern Saddlery forward and are thrilled that she is able to enjoy a well-deserved retirement after decades of dedication to the equestrian community.
They are excited to meet each and every one of you, continue serving the local equestrian community, and become part of your own equestrian journey for years to come.

The level of detail when it comes to safety is critically important and Jill does it perfectly and professionally.
